At least 40% of an adult human’s body
weight is comprised of muscles. Besides the very obvious
motor actions, our muscles are responsible for circulating
blood, breathing, moving food through the digestive system
and, eliminating waste products from the body. We have
over 600 skeletal muscles, which are shaping and supporting
the skeleton. Metabolically muscles use the majority of
food and oxygen we consume to produce energy for movement
and to regulate the body’s heat. Unfortunately overworked,
neglected muscles are responsible for the majority of
neck, shoulder and backaches, tendonitis, migraines and
