Frequently Asked Questions about Endermologie® treatment

1. What is cellulite?

Do many women have it? Cellulite is deposits of fat and other material trapped in pockets of connective tissue beneath the skin. It causes progressive dimpling, also called “orange peel”, or “cottage cheese” appearance of the skin. About 90 % of women are effected by it, after they reach puberty.

7. Why are women prone to develop cellulite?

Women’s skin is built differently, than men’s, to help them to store fat during pregnancy and breast feeding, and also to allow the skin to expand during these times. When estrogen levels fluctuate in the body, the skin will retain fluid, connective tissue in the skin hardens, blood, and lymphatic circulation is decreased, and fat cell storage is favored, causing the development of cellulite.

2. What is Endermologie®?

Endermologie® is an FDA approved procedure, developed by LPG, using the Cellu-M6 machine, to temporarily, yet effectively reduce the appearance of cellulite, and circumferential body measurements of treated areas. For more information on the company, please visit their website, www.lpgone.net

8. How does the machine work?
The machine is performing skin rolling, a well known massage technique, to break up fat cells trapped in the skin, increase blood flow, and lymphatic circulation, that will eliminate the broken up matters. The treatment also smoothes the surface of the skin by softening the connective tissue, that anchors the skin, causing the dimples of cellulite.

3. Does Endermologie® really work?

Yes. Clinical studies from UCLA, Vanderbilt University, and many European Universities have proven results of the Endermologie® machine. For more information on these studies, please visit LPG’s website, www.lpgone.net

9. Who is performing the treatment?
Our technicians are all certified by LPG, the company that developed and received FDA clearance for the machine. In addition to the LPG training they undergo an additional training by the owner operator of our facility, Klara, who has an experience of over 6 years in therapeutic and sports massage, and herself is a certified Endermologie® therapist as well.

4. How long does a session last? Do you just work on my problem areas?

A session lasts for 45 minutes. The main focus of the treatment is directed to the problem areas, but the entire body must be treated in order to stimulate general circulation and elimination of broken up toxic matters.

10. How many treatments do I need to start seeing results?
Results vary for every person, however an average person starts to notice the changes after about 6-8 treatments.

5. How many treatments should I consider to begin with?

A series of 10 or 15 treatments would be a good start to achieve results. The first 6 treatments are suggested within a 3 week time period, than the rest of the treatments should be received on a weekly basis until desired look is achieved. After the desired look is achieved, a once a month maintenance is sufficient for most individuals.

11. How long should I continue my treatments?

We suggest that you approach cellulite treatment as a lifestyle change. Just as we go to have our hair cut, and nails trimmed on an ongoing basis, we need our cellulite treated regularly as well. If we don’t address the problem in such manner, cellulite will come back..

6. Does the procedure hurt?

Rest assured that you are in the best possible hands. With your highly trained technician, and the machine’s capability of changing intensity, you won’t need to be in pain, but a certain discomfort during the first few treatments is possible, until your skin gets used to the treatment.

12. What do I wear during treatments?

We will provide you with a body stocking, Endermowear, to wear during all of your sessions. The first one is free with any treatment series. Should you lose it, you’ll need to purchase another one. For women thong style underwear is suggested to wear as well, men should consider Speedo style underwear.

13. I just had Liposuction, should I, can I still get Endermologie®?

Most definitely. Liposuction is done on the superficial reserve fat layer that is underneath the cellulite area, therefore does not help with cellulite problems. Just 2-3 days after your liposuction you can start our Endermologie treatment to eliminate cellulite, that can’t be addressed by liposuction. Specific treatment plan is designed to treat individual’s pre and post liposuction surgery.

15. Can everyone receive the treatment?

No. It is not for pregnant women, or people taking blood thinners, people with circulatory or vascular disease, active cancer, and also with infectious progressive diseases, and AIDS. Should you have any other concerns, we recommend that you consult your physician.

16. Does the treatment have any side effects?

The only negative side effect possible is minor bruising for individuals with very sensitive skin. However there are numerous positive side effects, such as relieving muscle soreness, fading of stretch marks and scar tissue, feeling rejuvenated, and relaxed.

17. Is it a weight loss program?

No, in order to lose pounds, you need to get on an exercise and diet program. However you can achieve incredible results by combining this treatment with weight loss programs. As a result of the treatment, you’ll notice your clothes fitting better, and also you’ll lose some inches in circumferential body measurements.

18. Do I need to do anything to get good results?

Yes. Drink sufficient amount of water. You will receive information during your free initial consultation on the amount of water your body needs.

19. Does this treatment work on men also?

Definitely. Even though men are not prone to develop cellulite, they might have loose skin, or some fat trapped under the skin, that can be improved by the treatments. Clinical experience has shown excellent results for problem areas such as "love handles" and loose pectoral tissue. It is an excellent skin toner, therefore it is the best choice to treat the skin after weight loss that resulted in loose skin.
